Leicester Beauchamp Cannons Basketball Club are pleased that the completion of the two-court centre at Beauchamp College is nearly complete and ready for their Summer Basketball Camp from August 22nd – 26th 2005.  The partnership between the Club, College and England Basketball has progressed from 2003 to establish enough funding for the new build.  It has finally come to fruition and the years of planning will now see an excellent venue for Oadby and Leicester and the new home for the best established basketball club in Leicester and Leicestershire.

Mandy Pollard and Bob McFadden (Cannons founder members) “We are very excited about the prospect of having all our squads training at the same venue across the week and look to build and increase our membership with our excellent school links across Leicester and Leicestershire.  So much time and effort have been put into the project and having been a part of the planning process and follow it through to actual building is a phenomenal achievement for the club that has been in existence for 4 years. The funding was part of a lottery initiative in conjunction with England Basketball called the Community Club Development Fund and of course the support of Bob Mitchell and Richard Parker at Beauchamp College, which made the whole bid possible.”

The Club are running a Summer Basketball Camp at Beauchamp College, Ridgeway, Oadby, Leicester LE2 5TP from August 22nd  – 26th for £75 for non-members from 9.45 – 16.00 daily.  Please download a form from the web-site and return to the address on the form, as places are limited.  This camp will give you the chance to try out for the club as well as experience the expertise of the best English Coaches in the county and the knowledge of Yugoslavian Coaches from Serbia.  Also on the Wednesday 24th from 6pm – 9pm the club will run an open 3 on 3 event for all ages from U14’s – U16’s – U18’s and seniors male and female.  Register your team on the day or via the internet.   For teams/players not on camp cost will be £10 per team.
